Roman Scheidl is a co-founder of the Austrian "Neue Malerei" (new art) movement launched in 1981. Roman Scheidl's painting uses as the main sources for intuition and inherent rhythm his love for dance theatre, for figures moving through space, and for resolving contrasts.
His paintings are poetic. Anything that dances, flies, dreams and smiles becomes an object of his work. His world seems light-hearted and flowing smoothly, full of flickering light, in perpetual motion. His work and titles are carried by a warm spring wind. Roman Scheidl loves dance and developed a wholistic approach to the art of painting.
